"From my experience as presenter at all the previous Heron Island Dive Festivals I can personally recommend the magnificent venue, the diving, the fabulous atmosphere, the wildlife, and the not so tame nightlife.
Some of the best fun times of my entire life took place over those Heron Island Dive Festival years and now with the added attraction of the underwater shootout and a treasure trove of prizes, the only thing better, is that the social networking, will be for real!
Mark my words; at the Heron Island Dive Festival, its "Fun in the Sun", for Everyone!
Don't forget your.............. "sunscreen!
Where else can you find first class diving, excellent dive sites and the tamest underwater wildlife you would ever hope to meet?
Where else might there be unlimited photographic opportunities with such a vast array of prizes?
Where else are you going to be entertained by professional, knowledgeable presenters, that are amongst the best in their fields?
Where else would you have the chance to mingle, meet with and dive with, keen enthusiastic divers from all over the world?
Where else can you share in the unbelievable "back to nature" feeling one experiences on a true coral cay and be part of the significant value that gives Heron Island a unique presence in its role as one of the pioneers in the Marine Park system along the Great Barrier Reef?
Where else, but Heron Island!
I dived Heron Island for 14 years, logging some 778 dives and discovering my best (at that time) new species, Coleman's Sea Urchin Shrimp in 1974, on Wistari Reef.
Today, a new breed of underwater explorers have arrived, with 250 plus images on hand and a wealth of ID images available, at one push of the button.
I may not be able to be there with you all this time around BUT, I can guarantee that I will be there in spirit.
For all those who take the trip, "have a great time", half your luck; and then, there's always next year, to look forward to".
